One hundred words isn’t much for a man who’s filled nineteen episodes of a travel series, but here goes. New York City. Every single time. The city that gave me WorldPride 2019, Broadway at its loudest, and a set of apartment keys in Astoria that mean more than any souvenir.

There’s a friend there — Alan — whose couch, conversation and company turn a metropolis of eight million strangers into something resembling home. Best vacation? Honestly, it’s not a place at all. It’s arriving somewhere knowing someone’s genuinely glad you came.

New York just happens to be where that feeling lives.
